Equally sized vertical fields in different shades of blue create a rhythmic composition.
Narrow black stripes separate the lighter and darker blue fields, emphasizing their individual identity within the geometric structure. The regular repetition of forms and the concentration on a limited range of colors give the painting a calm, almost meditative quality.
Pure pigments are applied to hand-primed Belgian linen. The blue layers are thinly painted, while the blue-black areas feature a thicker, impasto application, creating a distinctly textured surface.
